Koh Kong

Set on a large river with river front parks and working fishing villages Koh Kong is a nice place to explore even for just a couple of hours.

The bustling market is very typical Khmer with its vibrant fruit and vegetables and the latest catch from the sea.

There are plenty of food stalls and Khmer restaurants to try the local fare or there are now an increasing number of western run bars and guesthouses where you can get a coffee, a meal and find out what is going on.

A visit to the Muslim village is a unique experience and a great photo opportunity as you will be surrounded by local children within minutes. Please dress appropriately.

Koh Kong has an Acleda bank with a cash machine and a number of internet cafes. International calling is also available.

Beach near Koh Kong

Please note that some of these activities are seasonal and not available all year round, especially trips to Koh Kong Island, which are unlikely to run between May and October. Pream Krasoap is a very pleasant alternative.

Assistance can be given at the Rainbow Lodge to help you book these activities. However, most of them run from Koh Kong City so require a journey from Rainbow Lodge to Koh Kong before they can commence. If you want to undertake a large number of these activities, it might be easier for you to do so from a Koh Kong base.
